J.M. Lanham is the pen name of John Cagle, an author of science fiction, thrillers and suspense.
Born in Georgia in 1983, John spent childhood summers in the foothills of the Appalachians, surrounded by woods, little access to electricity and stacks of paperbacks to explore. His influences include Michael Crichton, Stephen King, John Grisham, Philip K. Dick, H.G. Wells, Robert Ludlum and Isaac Asimov.
He made his publishing debut with The R.E.M. Effect in 2016 and completed The R.E.M. Series in 2019. The sci-fi thriller trilogy explores genetic engineering, clandestine government experiments and pharmaceutical skullduggery with an unsettling question: what happens when dreams begin bleeding into reality?
His latest novel, AI: Artificial Incompetence, takes a more humorous turn. Set in Jacksonville in 2049, the young adult sci-fi police procedural follows a team trying to contain the chaos when artificial intelligence starts making some very human mistakes.
John lives in northeast Florida with his wife and two sons and owns Firewave Media LLC. When he’s not writing or working with real estate clients, he can often be found near the beach.
The R.E.M. Series is available in eBook and paperback on Amazon.com.
